IDDD Roundtable Workshop “Starting a Biotech Company”

Sponsored by the GCC Innovative Drug Discovery and Development (IDDD) Consortium, this workshop will first focus on considerations for academics who are thinking about starting companies. During the first session, attendees will hear from academics and local entrepreneurs who started companies from various career stages. Confirmed speakers include Shautong Song, Icell Kealex Therapeutics; Donna Chang, Hope Biosciences; Bala Raja, Luminostics; and Brittany Barreto, Pheramor; The second session will highlight area resources available to support those who choose to move forward with starting a company and will include short presentations from Magnus Hook, IBT on the “How to Start a Company” course that will launch this Fall; Stan Watowich, Ridgeline Therapeutics and UTMB and Tom Luby, TMCx on the new CPRIT-funded Accelerator for Cancer Therapeutics, and Atul Varadhachary, Fannin Innovation.
